Oregon Active Transportation Summit

Tyler Smith is a transportation planner with the Portland Bureau of Transportation. A member of PBOT’s Public Realm and Street Activation team, His primary work serves to advance placemaking initiatives in the public right of way. Grounded in community engagement and grassroots organizing, Tyler believes in community-first planning that centers equity, access, and joy in shared spaces. Recently Tyler joined the 2045 Transportation System Plan team as community engagement lead. Outside of work, he leads the local DJ collective, Group Sound, producing events that activate streets, warehouses, and 100 year old Chinese restaurants in Portland.
