About me
Megan Ramey is the Safe Routes to School Manager for Hood River County and a long-time advocate for childhood mobility, community health, and active transportation. She leads Safe Routes programming that gets students walking, rolling, and bicycling to school through bike trains, afterschool clubs, safety education, community engagement, and infrastructure partnerships with city and county leaders. In 2025 she received national recognition as Educator of the Year from the League of American Bicyclists for her leadership in creating joyful, equitable, and effective walking and biking initiatives for youth and families. Megan also founded Bikabout, a bicycling-focused travel and advocacy platform, and has a deep background in sustainability, transportation reform advocacy, and collaborative planning. Her work is rooted in empowering students, reclaiming streets for people, and making everyday active transportation a safe, visible, and valued part of community life.
