About me
Lauren McCune moved to Portland in 2006, and was immediately enamored with its wildly creative and subversive bike culture - here were her people! Flash forward twenty years, and she's never happier than when she's sharing in the magic of group bike riding with children, ideally paired with a theme and fantastic music! She coordinates the Bike Bus program at Abernethy Elementary School in SE Portland alongside an incredible team of parent + community volunteers, and believes deeply in Bike Bus as a vehicle for school and neighborhood connection and resilience. You can find her out in the city riding with kids and kids-at-heart, putting on theater shows, collaborating on community events, doing all sorts of art and making good sparkly trouble.
